Sometimes it only takes one shot.

I have hundreds, if not thousands of photos of this very special individual, yet it only takes this one image, which I took recently, to reminded me of everything that is so spacial about her.

It’s an unposed, candid instant. When I look at it reminds me of the happiness and fun we were enjoying together in the moment. She is relaxed, her natural self, a slight upturned smile as she reviews a menu in her favourite place. I don’t need the context of our surroundings to prompt my memory, her face tells the story.

That is the power of a single photo. Modern technology has provided us with the opportunity to take an infinite number of digital images, journaling our entire lives if we so wish, yet how many of us ever really go back after the fact and enjoy past shots? For me, I know that I benefit sometimes from journalling less and focusing on the detail of what I shoot.
